About

Hello

A note from our Chair

Hampshire Whites is an independent Leeds United supporters’ group which exists to help our members support Leeds United and, hopefully, minimise the difficulties that arise when supporting a team over 250 miles away!

Most of our members live in West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

"We know the Leeds fans support us every game.

When we can feel them, we have extra power.

They are the twelfth man on the pitch."

PABLO HERNANDEZ - 2016-2021

Mission

Our aim is to help supporters watch/attend Leeds United fixtures and events. We do this by organising travel to all matches, organising venues for watching matches on TV, helping with tickets and organising social events.

We maintain close links with Leeds United which is helped by our membership of the Leeds United Supporters Network (LUSN) which keeps us in contact with other supporters’ groups and Leeds United. We keep our members informed of any issues and help with any difficulties they may experience.

We are proud of our fundraising and each year we raise money for the Leeds United Charity of the Year and an equivalent local charity.

You do not have to be a Leeds United member to be a member of Hampshire Whites.

Our History

Where it all began

Hampshire Whites began with a few Leeds supporters in Fareham / Southampton areas, trying to get to matches as cheaply as possible and with company. They travelled with supporters from the Isle of Wight and Bournemouth in the early days and gradually this became more formal.

In 2002 Hampshire Whites was officially formed and began getting local supporters to matches by coordinating travel and tickets.

In 2009 Hampshire Whites became a Regional Members Club as part of a new initiative to involve fans of Leeds United. We are proud to say that we were the first supporters group to host 'Leeds on the Road', when we hosted a Q&A session with the Leeds United Chairman, Management and players, past and present, pn our very own 'doorstep' in Fareham. This developed the close links with LUFC that we are still able to access today.

We have always organised transport although this was on a very ad-hoc basis for many years. For over 10 years we have hired transport and this is formally arranged through Hampshire Whites. We have purchased tickets for many years - mostly away - but this has become more difficult in recent years. We offer the service of trying to buy home and away tickets - this is mainly for members who are unable to purchase tickets at the time of the sale, but also, so that our members can sit together at matches.

The number of supporters involved with The Hampshire Whites has fluctuated over the years largely due to performances on the pitch and the ownership of LUFC. The geographical regions represented by our membership have also widened as supporters have moved to other areas of the country, but have continued to maintain their links with the Hampshire Whites.

"Side before self, every time."

BILLY BREMNER - 1960-1976

Through it all Together

We are currently an Independent Supporters' Group but still maintain close links with LUFC and are proud to be founding members of the Leeds United Supporters Network.

We have always had hard-working committees and this is still the case, we welcome new committee members. Our membership is actively involved in the group and we are large enough to be effective in our aims.
